Privacy Policy

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, mine cryptocurrency, or share your messages or vault content with anyone.

1. Introduction

APPEIRON (“we”, “our”, “the app”), developed by Cascade Investment LLC, is an encrypted communication and storage application. This policy describes what data the app uses, how it is processed, and what we do not do.

2. What the app does

Encrypted chat — Messaging and calls between you and your contacts. Content is designed so only you and the recipient can read it.
Vault — Encrypted local storage on your device. Vault content is not sent to our servers in plaintext.
Dead Man’s Switch (DMS) — Optional feature you configure; triggers are under your control.
Mesh — Optional nearby / local-network communication between participating devices.
Subscriptions — Optional App Store purchases unlock feature tiers. Billing is handled by Apple.

3. Data on your device

Chat messages, media, contacts, vault content, and cryptographic keys are stored locally (and encrypted where applicable). We do not have access to your keys or message plaintext.

4. Data used for the service (relay)

To deliver messages and calls when you are offline, the app may connect to a relay service. The relay may receive routing identifiers, push tokens, and encrypted payloads. Our goal is end-to-end encryption so the relay cannot read message content. Push notifications use generic labels (e.g. “New message”), not message text.

We do not use this data for advertising, analytics products, or sale to third parties.

5. Crash reporting (optional diagnostics)

If enabled in a given build, the app may send technical crash or error reports to a privacy-focused diagnostic service (Sentry, EU data region). Reports are limited to technical metadata (e.g. app version, platform, error type). They are not intended to include chat text, vault contents, or other user message bodies.

6. Data we do not collect

Account email or phone number for signup (the app does not use traditional account login).
Chat, vault, or wallet content for our own use.
Location for tracking (if you share location, it is only in a message you choose to send).
Advertising identifiers for ads or resale.

7. Permissions

The app may request camera, microphone, photos, notifications, Bluetooth / local network (mesh), location (when you share it), and biometrics / device unlock. You can revoke permissions in system settings.

8. Third parties

Relay / infrastructure for delivery only.
Apple (App Store, push via APNs / Expo where applicable).
Optional crash diagnostics (see §5).

No advertising SDKs.

9. Your rights and choices

You can stop using the app and uninstall it; local data is removed with the app (except backups you made). For privacy questions, contact us below.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
